Hi everyone and welcome back!

Today is an exciting day because I am finally sharing an update of my acne journey - if you are new click the link below to see my original post.

It has been a crazy long year but I can finally say that I am confident with my skin and could not be happier.

MY SKIN

is clear

is "normal"

is something I am proud of

My skin is completely transformed since last year. It is smooth and most importantly it doesn't hurt anymore. There are slight scars but they remind of how much my skin has changed and how lucky I am. I can't even remember the last time I was this comfortable and confident without makeup on and let me tell you, it is a great feeling. Yes, I still do wear foundation or BB cream for school or work, but I no longer feel the need to wear it out when I am doing nothing the rest of the day.

Last week I was on vacation and it was so relieving not having to worry about my acne. I never realized how much it held me back and made me uncomfortable. For previous vacations I remember not being able to wait until it was time to shower and get ready for dinner, and the reason I wanted my shield. I wanted to put foundation on to cover the parts of me that I hated, the part of me that I wanted no one to see.

MY SKIN CARE

I have a simple skin care routine

1 - wash with cetaphil gentle skin cleanser

2 - moisturize with cetaphil moisturizing cream

SIDE EFFECTS OF ACCUTANE

1: Dry Lips

Honestly this one was bad but maintainable. Aquaphor became my best friend and also saved me from a lot of pain. Toward the end the corners of my lips did crack and bleed in the morning but you know what they always say, no pain no gain.

2: Dry/Sensitive Skin I was terrified of dry skin going in. I was expecting my skin to be flakey and irritated all the time but that never happened for me. The only time I ever had a problem was the last month (November) I had a rash all over my legs and arms. I would also get cuts and blisters really easily (do not break in heels or vans on accutane). I will say I am majorly missing having dry hair and being able to go 4 days without washing it, uhg take me back!!

3: Red and Dry Eyes

This was by far the worst side effect. I looked like I was high everyday (so if you ever saw me I wasn't). My eyes burned a lot as well. It almost felt like I had a slit version of pink eye for 5 months straight but trust me it was just the medicine.

4: Giving Blood

This also did not bother me but if you hate needles good luck!!

A LOOK AT THE PAST
